Pros:Exceptional sound reproduction without distortion and extreme comfort...What's left!!
Cons:It costs to have "the boss"
The Bottom Line: Don't listen to my opinion; go find a retailer that stocks the 590ís, listen to them, then buy a pair off of EBay for half the price.
I plugged the HD 590 head phones into my Nakamichi, put on a little Prince, and what I heard next was nothing short of UNBELIEVABLE. These things have an uncanny ability to emit the best crisp highs and mids that I have ever heard!!! The bass is definitely present but not too prominent ( it could be a little more prominent to balance out the spectrum ). The music is so life-like and accurate that I heard sounds that I had never heard before not to mention every imperfection in the recording. In certain cases, it was like someone was standing behind me and breathing down my neck. If you like to listen to your music at a volume higher than normal then brace yourself because these things can get loud WITHOUT distorting out. As far as comfort, the 590's are very light and not constricting on your head. It is like having 2 pillows surrounding your ears so there is no chance of any type of fatigue; I have even fallen asleep wearing these things. Now let me talk about the things that I dont like about these headphones. I knew when I purchased the 590s that they were open-aire but my goodness. A lot of music escapes out the backs of these things so I will never use them on planes, trains, or any type of public transportation unless being obnoxious is the attitude of the day. No matter what type of music you are in to, the 590s are going to deliver a serious sound for your listening pleasure and thats no joke!!
