Nice looking shoes for boys.

Pros:Nice looking, affordable, durable, easy to put on.
Cons:None.
The Bottom Line: I used to buy Stride Rite shoes for my son, but mostly stick to Skechers now, they just look nicer and are about $20 less.
My son needed some new sneakers and so I was in the market for some. I had a giftcard for Amazon and found these for only $35. Skechers for boys at my local store (Fred Meyer) usually are around $55 and then they hand out $10 off coupons, making them $45. So I saved ten bucks and the shipping was free. I am impressed with now nice these are for the price.
My son has had thick feet, meaning thick from the center of the foot up (not wide feet) since he was born. He also has long toes. I could only buy him expensive Stride Rite shoes for the longest time, and now he also fits Skechers well for some reason, but there are most brands he cannot wear because they rub.
These shoes are very nice I got them in the royal blue color. My six-year old son likes them because they look like his sister's basketball shoes he tells me. I think they look like trendy skater shoes (sort of). They aren't the typical velcro shoes. I like my son to have one pair of tie shoes and one pair of velcro, but these make velcro look cool. It's basically a slip-on sneaker except for one velcro strap up top to tighten it. There is a big "S" on the side for the Skechers brand. Most of the shoe is black but the rubber sole is royal blue.
These shoes have enough grip on the bottom that my son does not slip in rain, but not so that he trips. They don't gather a bunch of dirt in the grooves, either. They stay clean for the most part and are somewhat durable (not many shoes last more than 6 months with boys). The shoe also boasts shock absorption and flexible soles. I always buy my son's shoes slightly bigger than he wears for room and growth, because he does grow like a weed. These seem to run true to size. My son can also put these on with ease. I've also seen these shoes come in red or green on the soles.
My son wears these to school and to play, on his bikes rides, etc. They seem to be holding up well and keep out the rain water (we live in the Northwest). He has not had any rubbing or issues like that on his feet or ankles. I will mention that the shoe kind of hits you high on the ankle. At first, my son thought they were rubbing and too tight, but loosenining up the velcro strap up top helped with that. If you have a thick-ankled child, this may be something to consider.
Overall, these shoes are pretty durable, a good price and very nice looking.
