My wife had to have this camera and it was only used a few times before the zoom feature toggle broke. It is a very slim and lightweight camera. The battery lasted from first charge until the toggle broke so that is a bright spot. I was very impressed with the image quality having high megapixels and the SD card was great so I could easily transfer to my iMac. We never used the included software as I have profession software so I cannot help you with that. The front that slides down to power on was not the best idea as it can open in your pocket or in my wife's purse.

It uses a Carl Zeiss lens, which in my opinion, is the best available. I am just disappointed that the toggle broke as it was not a cheap piece of equipment. Checking into getting it fixed showed that it would be cheaper to toss it and buy a new camera and that is a huge downfall. We do not have disposable income so if you do not either then find a different model or keep it in a highly padded case at all times. We bought it because it was so slim and would be easy to slip in a pocket and take anywhere opposed to my digital SLR that is a major pain to take anywhere.
We made quite a few videos with this camera and I was and still am very pleased with those videos. I even was able to produce a nice video for a local candidate running for office, although my professional programs significantly enhanced the footage that the camera took. But still not bad doing that job.
