| kirko8617's Full Review: America West Arena |
A couple weeks ago I got home from a trip to Arizona(see my epinions on Sedona and Scotsdale). When we were there I noticed that game 3 of the Coyotes and Avalanche series was home.
So I called and got nice easy tickets over the phone. For the playoffs they had this white-out thing going on that most people who watched the series or saw it on TV may have noticed. White-out was on the home games of the series(the games in Pheonix) everyone in the stadium would wear white to motivate the team.
So when we were driving to get to the game we saw parking sings and get this for the parking it cost about $3-$7. That was also right near the rink. In Boston parking costs around $20. We saw a spot on the street open so we parked our car there and there wasn't even a meter! So we got Free parking right near the rink. When we were walking into the rink we got free complimentary White-out shirts and right out side the rink entrance there were big posters promoting the white-out event and a man let us take some(both of which I still have).
When we walked in the rink the veiw was astonding you almost thought you were on the ice playing. Also everyone but a handful of people had white shirts on! That alone was worth the price of admission which was also a great deal! The food was nice and the prices were great compared to any other place I have been especially the Fleet Center which has to be one of the most expensive places to go to enjoy a game. The price for going to a game, buying food, parking the car(without having it stolen!), ect. was so much better than Boston that I want to move there!
As most people who saw the game noticed the Coyotes lost but it was still a great time. Our car was still there when we left the arena without any dings on it(it was a rental so it didn't matter, but people who do bring their car to the rink would like to know that).
This is a great arena to watch anything from a concert to a hockey game in. The only problem is that they need to extend the floor space to make the arens become a hockey rink so the balcony(or doghouse) has an obstructed veiw. On the two ends with the nets you can't see from the top of the face off cicles inside the blue lines and in of your own end, but you can see everything else. This is a great trip for fans of all ages. The seats are really nice also.
