| jstancil's Full Review: America West Arena |
We recently attended a WNBA game at America West Arena. Our seats were way up high. From this perspective, I had a few observations about the arena.
First, the rows are extremely narrow. It is very difficult to get to your seat if someone is seated between that seat and the aisle.
Secondly, if heights bother you, don't sit in the upper section. These seats are pitched very steep. The seats have cup holders on them, attached to the seat in front. For the upper deck, I wonder why. The cup holders are at floor level, making it difficult to get to your drink.
Third, if you sit way up high, don't bother with a program. The lighting is not sufficient to read anything with any degree of ease.
On the positive side, considering that we were up so high, the view of the court was excellent, and we could identify the players.
I would also add that the scoreboards around the arena are great with a large amount of current information about the game statistics.
The food selection is pretty typical - hot dogs (and variations thereof), pizza, chips, pretzels, nachos, popcorn, etc. Subway does have several booths located around the arena which makes for a nice change of pace from the normal. Prices are about as one would expect.
All in all, it is an OK arena. I've seen better, but I have seen a lot worse.
