OK, so I am totally biased when it comes to anything dealing with Penn State, especially football, but here is my 2 cents on the issue. First, the tailgating is about as good as you will find anywhere. I have been to games at Ohio State and at the U. of Michigan, and their tailgating just doesn't cut it compared to Penn State. Most of the seats are pretty good, although there are some poor ones in the corners. All seats have an unobstructed view of the field though, which is a definite plus. The fans are classy. After almost losing to our arch-rival, Pitt, in 1999, the Penn State fans around the tunnel leading to the Pitt locker room gave the Pitt players a standing ovation as they left the field. The only downside to the fans is that they tend to not be very loud during most of the game. At the start of this season, the stadium will grow to over 100,000, the second largest in the country, and I hope the extra seats and the new upper deck will help to increase the decibel level during the big games. The only down side is that the view of Mt. Nittany from our seats will be taken away. Also, be sure to get to your seats early to watch the Blue Band march their pre-game. Overall, this is a great stadium with great fans, and we'd love to see you at a game real soon.
