Pros: Great View in all seat.
Cons: You come out as a pretzel
The Bottom Line: The Coliseum is very nice. Located in a nice neighborhood.
I will not return. However, if you really want to see someone perform, it may be worth it to you....

| sbennick's Full Review: Charlotte Coliseum |
Recently my husband and I had a chance to visit the Charlotte Coliseum for an Eric Clapton Concert. This was not our first visit. But it will be our last.
The seating is very uncomfortable. There is no leg room to speak of. I am 5'3" and felt very bunched up. Image being 6' tall, which my husband is. Another problem we found was the seats are not made for anyone with any weight on them. Of course, at 6' tall, my husband does.
Although we were uncomfortable, we did have a great view. We were on mid-level. The seating is at an angle to allow everyone a view of the performer. Another plus is the Wide Screen TV's stationed on each side of the stage. This gives an up close and personal view.
Another plus is the parking. The cost for parking usually runs $5 per event. Which is not bad. I have seen at as high as $10 at the speedway. The parking lot opens 2 hours before any event. At Clapton, there was plenty of tail gate parties going on.
**Note:
Be sure to make note of which parking aisle you are on. It is very easy to get confused when exiting.
Although traffic is heavy around the Charlotte Coliseum we were parked with minutes. The flow of traffic is set up really nice. It moves at a steady flow. When we exited the coliseum we decided to sit and wait for the lot to clear some. We were out and on the interstate within 1 hour. Having visited the speedway a number of times, this is a remarkable time.
Considered the Home of the Hornets, the Coliseum sees more ball games than anything. The Charlotte Coliseum was build in 1988, with the Hornets in mind. It can easily set 24,000 people, with wheel chair seating available. I have to say the sound quality of the Coliseum is excellent We could easily hear understand and appreciate every note Clapton sang.
The Charlotte Coliseum is considered to be one of largest arenas in the country. Yet, the Hornets say they need something bigger.... Fill up this one first....
I want to list a couple of features I found really nice....
Quiet Room This is a room set up for parents at events catering to kids/teens. Breast-feeding mom take note, this is great.
Tag-A-Kid . You can stop by Customer Service and they will attach a tag to a child's wrist that identifies your seat location. This is great if your child would become lost. The Coliseum staff would be able to quickly reunite you.
**Note:
If you are going to a child event, such as the circus, use this service! It can really make the event more enjoyable, Having had my child to get lost (first day of kindergarten) I Know I would.
Smoke Free- This is a smoke free building, with smoking areas set up. Having smoked for many years(smoke free since 1991), I can understand the hassle of stepping out to smoke. However, this is a feature I enjoyed.
There are also plenty of concession areas, that offer a wide selection. You can find anything from beer to candy. However, the prices are very steep. We only purchased a drink, a beer and popcorn, but it was $9.
If you ever get to our neck of the woods, visit the Hornets sometime. That is if you love to feel like a pretzel after wards.
