The Bottom Line: I've enjoyed this stadium more than I ever did the Astrodome!

GROWING UP: THE ASTRODOME
I grew up in West Houston, Katy to be exact. I've always been to the Houston Astrodome to see the Astros, Supercross, concerts, Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. When I found out they were building a new stadium, I was disappointed. I thought Houston was waisting money, they already have the Astrodome the 8th wonder of the world! But I understood that the Dome was old, very crowded, and time for a new stadium.

I do not live there anymore but my family still does. Over a year ago when it was still being built, it was HUGE compared to the Astrodome! And it's right there...you can compare it.

DETAILS OF THE STADIUM
I went for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo...
The Stadium is beautiful! Very eye pleasing. The building seems to be in the shape of a square and you can get inside from a number of places all around. The entrance ways, the walkways, the overall look of the stadium is very nice. The seats are a lot more comfortable and bigger than any other stadium I've ever been in. There's lots of room in the rows and aisles. I didn't feel like I was going to fall, like I did in the Astrodome one year! This stadium also has a quiet, retractable roof making it great for Texas' hot summers.

PARKING
Parking is another story. You park in one of the paid lots (but don't you have to in any arena?) - anywhere from $25.00 to $3.00. During big events, they have shuttles all over Houston...like a park & ride. It's a lot easier manuvering around and a little more cheaper as well. The only problem is when you want to go, you have to stand in line which seems like forever just to get on the bus (make sure it's the right one!) to travel back to your vehicle.

HUNGRY?
There are many places to eat. Anything from hot dog stands to concession stands to restaurants. They have the regular stadium concession food: hot dogs, funnel cakes, nachos, and burgers. Plus they also have Chinese food, Mexican food, and other kinds too! The prices are high like any stadium - I paid $3.75 for 20 oz of Dr. Pepper!

SHOPPING ANYONE?
Depending on which store, the prices aren't as bad as you might think. The Team Store is a little cheaper than some of the others.

OTHER
Like any well organized stadium, everything is conveniently located. It seems like there is food and restroom outlets every few steps. The designated smoking area is outside.

I've enjoyed this stadium more than I ever did the Astrodome!
