Pros: The teams have potential.
Cons: It's better to watch it on television than in the Dome.

Do not be mistaken. I am not a fan of Minnesota professional athletics. However, as a true sports fan, it would be an injustice if I did not advocate for all residents and/or fans of Minnesota athletics when I encourage taxpayers to foot the bill for a new stadium.
In Minnesota, it is a constant question of which came first - the chicken or the egg. Did fans stop supporting the local pro teams and, therefore, the teams fell apart and, as a result, owners do not want to foot the bill for the stadium? Or, do owners not want to foot the bill for the stadium so fan loyalty has suffered, as well as the rosters? Who cares! The reality is that it is impossible to put a quality product on the field when nobody attends the games. On a beautiful summer day, I do not want to be under the Dome. Do you?
Everyone complains about the quality of the Twins and the Vikings. Yet, nobody wants to take the first step toward increasing revenue for the local teams. I do not want to pay higher taxes. However, consider the adverse of building a stadium. Teams leave, jobs are lost, the downtown suffers, poverty rises. The jobs that leave are filled by people with lower incomes who live in the city. Where do these people work when the positions are gone? The suburbs? The bus system is not that great.
Everyone - write a check for five dollars right now and mail it to the stadium fund. If you do not want to, then you forfeit your right to use our new stadium. You will be able to stay home and watch the Dallas Stars. Remember them? It sure hurt to watch a good team go.
