Kyle field is an excellent place to watch a game. The traditions and spirit of the student body create a very unique and "classic" college atmosphere.
The new (south) end zone stands have created a whole new tier of great seats/views. Nicknamed "The Zone", it has also pushed the capacity up and made it easier for folks to get a single game ticket (big games are still overflow sellouts). Scalpers walk the streets lining the stadium. Wait until you can find a student or walk into the old basketball stadium (G.Rollie White) for a few seats that may become available at game time. There is also a ticket exchange table in the MSC for a few hours before the game.
The best seats are on the visitor's side (alumni side) because the sun is usually at your back and the late afternoon often yields shade. The other advantage is that you get a great view of the student section for the "saw varsity's horns off" sway which literally shakes the light poles. It is an amazing sea of "saw tooth" heads. You also get a great stereo effect during the yells.
If you're visiting A&M for the first time, be sure to attend the midnight yell practice on Friday night at the stadium. It's free, safe and fun. Anyone will enjoy this- (warning: if you can stay awake until then, you'll be too excited to sleep immediately afterward).
The large diamond vision screen at the north end zone allows anyone to see/review the plays on the filed. Obviously second deck and midfield seats create the best views.
