| white_cocoa's Full Review: Madison Square Garden |
Even on the television screen, Madison Square Garden (MSG), always seems like the place to be. The greats have played there, Bradley, Messier, Rick Brunson(give the kid a shot Van Gundy), Frazier, Gretzky, and Patrick Ewing (please stop picking your nose with towels, geeez..... MSG puts up such events as hockey, college hoops, concerts, wrestling, but I'm going to focus on the NBA and your NEW YORK KNICKS. When you enter the arena you are bombarded with tons of people confused where to go in this huge construction for the sports fan. After following your Tower directions, and finally find your section, the sensation begins. You see 25 players on the floor shooting around in the best arena of all time. The players favorite music is pumping getting both you and the team pumped up. As you make your way down to the court, usually to be stopped by an usher telling you you don't belong there, you might see such faces as Spike Lee, Ray Lucas, Savion Glover, as I have in the past. Then it happens, every time the experience starts I get chills. You finally find your seat, and the lights go out. GO NY GO NY GO, the theme song rings through your ears as the starting line ups begin.... with a light show in center court and your favorite players slapping hands near their respective benches, you get pumped up....big time. The game starts and you are ready for war. The Garden itself does a great job with the little things, announcers, little captions and instant replays. This is it sports fans, the yankee stadium of basketball. It's like sitting down on a piece of history, and with all these stadiums being rebuilt, please enjoy it soon. you never know what's going to happen to the greedy owners in twenty years, I don't want to have to share a stadium with the Nets. i.e. Jets and Giants. So sports fans, if action is what you want, come to the most exciting city in the world, and drop by, I'll be the one that looks like he's living his favorite dream just one more time. I love this game.
