Pros:Great atmosphere for everyone, including children. Everything inside is easy to access.
Cons:If you go to a Pittsburgh game at WVU, the fans can get rowdy.
The Bottom Line: There is nothing like watching the Mountaineers at Mountaineer Field. The stadium is electric. The scenery is breath taking on an early fall Saturday. A trip you must take.
If you live near Morgantown, West Virginia or visiting, you have to catch a West Virginia Mountaineer football game. The stadium offers a variety of breath taking views and the atmosphere of the stadium is electric. The full capacity of this stadium is slightly above 65,000. The food, service, and hospitality in Mountaineer Field is like no other that I have ever seen. There is nothing like singing "Country Roads" after a West Virginia win. Long after each game, you can catch the die hard WVU fans around the stadium. The field is turf grass and is a great playing surface. Every game that I went to never disappointed. Since the Mountaineers continue to stay in the top 25, you always get your moneys worth. The 2011 season has the LSU Tigers coming to town which will be a big game for both teams. This will be Bill Stewart's last season as head coach of the Mountaineers so WVU will want to send him out in a good way. One of the best features of the stadium happens in the parking lot. Yes, I am talking about the tale gate eateries. Within one mile of the stadium, I could smell that southern hospitality cooking. Just as loyal as the fans are to the stadium, they are just as loyal to cooking burgers, steaks, and ribs for everyone. The stadium atmosphere welcomes everyone, even the opposing team. Mountaineer Field is not like other stadiums. The stadium is very spacious and has easy access to all eateries and shops. The stadium offers a variety of fan transports that will allow you to park outside of the stadium property to avoid traffic congestion. You can park at the stadium park and ride if you don't feel like putting up with traffic. Even if you are just a college football fan, you will enjoy your experience at Mountaineer Field.
