I have seen several WVU games over the years. I have also had the priviledge of attending College football games in College Park, MD; Pittsburgh, PA; and Tempe, AZ. I have to say that out of all the stadiums that I have seen in person, and from what I have seen on tv, Mountaineer Field is amongst the best.
Sure other stadiums may be better for many different reasons. However at Mountaineer Field, most, if not all, the seats give you a good view of the field. Plus, they have plenty of handicapped seating. Since many of the fans that go to the games have season tickets, it is almost like a community when you go. People know each other, and if you are new to the section, or a first time fan, they make you feel welcome.
The food is as good as any other stadium. They serve such things as pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, pretzels. For drinks they serve soda and beer. The prices are of course high, but no higher then any other place. There are plenty of concession stands, so lines are not to bad. Also, they have enough bathrooms (men & women) which are in decent shape.
Another reason why I love Mountaineer Field is it is easily accessible. I live 2 hours away from it, so appreciate the fact that it is not far off Interstate 68, and Interstate 79. Also, if you do not want to park at the stadium, you can park at The Colisium or Pierpont Apartments for $2-3 and have a bus pick you up. The only thing that I did not really like about the stadium is the fact that some of the handicapped parking is far away from the field. Other then that it is a great college football stadium, with a, wonderful, friendly, and enthusiastic atmosphere.
