| jessknight's Full Review: Notre Dame Stadium |
I've lived in South Bend my whole life. Everything here revolves around the University of Notre Dame. When the stadium was re-done a few years back it created quite a stir. Would the stadium loose its historic luster that it has had for years? The remodel of the stadium only enhanced the history behind it. The addition of seating, more concessions and bathrooms has enhanced the stadium and brought it up to par.
The atmosphere of the stadium is something that every die hard Notre Dame fan needs to experience at least once in their life. The buzz of the crowds inside the stadium as well as outside is something to see. The tailgating in the parking lot prior to the game is an experience all in itself. Walking the grounds of the University prior to the game really gets you in the mood. A must see is the grotto. The serene atmosphere of the grotto is a nice contrast to the hype of the stadium area. You can also visit the bookstore prior to the game to pick up the latest ND gear.
The concession stands have a wide variety to choose from when it comes to food or beverages. The prices are pretty decent and there are vendors all over the stadium for you to choose from. There are also plenty of vendors that have offer ND souvenirs ranging from shirts to hats.
