| Noreted's Full Review: Oriole Park at Camden Yards |
I went to this stadium last year on a free ticket that was awarded to me by my work company. I must confess I am not a big baseball/orioles fan. My heart has always been with Football and/or Basketball. I decided that even though I do not particulary enjoy baseball games I would come, because I had tickets right above home plate in the "Nosebleed" (upper decks) Section.
I started this trip by attending a Luncheon that was held outside in the blistering hot sun. We had hamburgers, hotdogs, sodas, beer, and sidedishes such as french-fries and chips. This was a very pleasent but HOT thing to do before the game. My company provided the food.
We started taking our seats about 10 minutes before the game. As I was walking up the aisles I noticed how beautiful this stadium is. Oriole Park at Camden yards is one of the most elegant and nicely laid out stadiums I have been in.
When I got up to my seat I was cramped with my long legs, but that's part of the effect of being at the game, instead of on your couch drinking a beer. These seats were not particulary uncomfortable but nothing special. I found that I had no trouble seeing over the person in front of me, unlike some movie theatres my knees were at his head.
I was very comfortable watching the baseball and game and even though I did not stay for the whole thing I was pleased. Overall I would recommend the seating and inside of the stadium. Walking to the stadium is another story...
In order to park for this most splendid event we parked at PSI Net Stadium, for those of you who aren't familiar with the Baltimore Ravens that is their stadium, which is next to Camden Yards. Even though these stadiums are next to eachother it's not like walking to your neighbors house. It seemed like I was walking forever, not to mention at the peak of baseball season in Baltimore, MD it's well over 90 Degrees Farenheit and the Humidity is 98 Percent. If there was one thing I would change about this stadium it would be getting there! They should run an Amtrak train off the Washington DC Metro lines out there that can service Oriole Park at Camden Yards and PSI Net Stadium.
Overall I had a good experience once I got to the stadium, but I never stopped sweating. If you're not in the mood for a good old fashioned stadium feeling and hot dogs with beer stay home! If you enjoy baseball games and don't mind trecking out the actual stadium go for it!
