| charles's Full Review: Raymond James Stadium |
This is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! It used to be Trent Dilfer's home, but he got traded to the Baltimore Ravens. And now he is back to the same stadium to take on the New York Giants. He can't forget the memories. How great it is to play in front of the home crowd? For sure, whether the Ravens win or lose, Trent will be a winner. Once again, it's going to be another super bowl. But business for some will never be the same!
Watch Out NBC, CBS Is Resurfacing With Hot Programs!
By now, you and your buddies have already roasted the pig or assembled everything you will need the chicken Bar-b-Que tomorrow. The beers are all fresh. Even here in California, at least for one day, there won't be any talks of rolling blackouts. Everybody will remain fixated on their TV screens to watch this year's super bowl between The Baltimore Ravens and The New York Giants. It's going the super broadcast for two well-known football figures. Phil Simms and Greg Gumbel will be the announcing team for one of the most watched events in the US and all over the world. (The Soccer fans may be unhappy with me here!)
CBS is poised to get a rating boost from this Super Bowl followed by Survivor: The Australian Outback
CBS is where it wanted to be all along. The majority of eyeballs will be on the station and its affiliates. Eyeballs from all age groups, ethnic backgrounds, genders will watch this game. They will also watch the competition of Coke vs. Pepsi in the commercial arenas. This year, we'll have career dot-com sites such as Monster.com and HotJobs.com. They will battle it out. E-trade will be among them. Now, this is a huge decrease from last year when up to 50% of dot-coms were begging to be seen with bundles of greenbacks. What a huge difference a year makes! A lot of those sites were never profitable until they ceased to exist. Well, they declared bankruptcy. The only thing is that I will miss their commercials. Marketers won't have a chance to apply and unleash their creative juice. So CBS will be the platform on which viewers will be able to access their Super Bowl and commercials. In case the station missed some of them, it will get them with the "Survivor" hook. Its premier show is right after the super game.
Some facts to share with super fans
* The Super Bowl will take place in Tampa Florida. Trent Dilfer, recruited from California University-Fresno or Fresno State, used to play for the Buccaneers. He is back with The Ravens in this year's bowl. What an irony for the Buccaneers?
* It is expected that some people with ditch church tomorrow. Some church leaders will release their members early so they can participate in the celebration. More than 40 million female viewers are expected to watch Super Bowl 35.
* It is also expected that sales of antacid will increase the day after the game.
CBS will cash on advertising this year despite the noted absence of dot-coms
While the network is charging more than $2 million per 30-second commercial, the first "Million Dollar Minute" in television advertising occurred during Super Bowl 19. Last year, a 60-second spot cost a cool $3.8 million. Yes, there is lots of money to be made. Business owners know that their company's names or products will be seen by the greatest and largest audience ever.
CBS will be the greatest winner both with the Super Bowl and Survivor. The other networks must watch out now! CBS is leaving the comatose, zombie-like state.
