Wow you talk about a MASSIVE football venue. With the new additions (seating) and the new scoreboard with Jumbotron this stadium is a place I am proud to say I had the pleasure of attending.
Getting tickets for LSU games is near impossible. Baton Rouge lives eats and sleeps Tiger football. Tickets are expensive if you can find them (most likely going to have to buy scalped tickets) or if you're a student then you have no worries (student tickets are very inexpensive)
I had the pleasure of attending the LSU vs. Tenn. game a few weeks ago. The mighty volunteers (who WERE ranked 11th before coming to town) Somehow, LSU pulled the game out, whooped a ranked giant and absolute mayhem ensued. A little over 90,000 people packed into the stadium for the game, most of them drunken frat boys. The vibe was so insane I felt like I was at the Super Bowl. The fans here are among the best and most supportive and live and die with their team.
It's known as death valley because that's what most opponents feel like they are playing at. It's extremely hot here throughout the season, and most teams who come here lose. LSU used to be a top 10 team but have had a few bad years and lost a lot of good players to the NFL (mainly Kevin Faulk, who is having an ok year at New England)
If you're looking to see some good college football, played on grass in a huge stadium with a crowd so insane you have no choice but to get caught up in the madness, then look no further then Baton Rouge Louisiana for some good'ole cajun football action.
