| norwaynick's Full Review: Turner Field |
Some of you may note that I live in New Jersey and will wonder why I am writing about Turner Field. Well the fact is I have, for some reason, always been a Braves fan despite living here. I don't know what it was but I have always been hooked on them.
Unfortunately they are all the way down in Atlanta, Georgia so I don't get to see them often from the stadium. Luckily TBS presents nearly all of their games and I am ALWAYS watching (THANKS TED).
I have found that Turner Field is a big improvement on Fulton County stadium the old field before the Olympics was held down in Atlanta. When I am down there I normally sit at the dugout level which gives me a great view. This will cost you about $30 but the further you site up the lower tickets are. In fact they go all the way down to $5 in the Upper levels.
When you arrive there you too will see how nice it is and even if you hated everything about the stadium you get to see the BRAVES. Any way when you arrive make sure, especially your first time, to check out huge Coke bottle where they shoot fireworks from on a homerun. It's really cool.
If you have kids they will enjoy the facilities especially Scouts Alley where they offer a virtual baseball game against a Braves pitcher (simulated of course). Then there is also the souvenir shops where you can get just about ANYTHING about the Braves. If you want you can also visit the Braves Museum which has some great stuff from former Braves players and is really really cool.
Now everything seems perfect except one minor exception. PARKING IS TERRIBLE. You would think with all his money Ted would have gotten something like parking figured out but he didn't so now you have to deal with it.
To solve this problem, or atleast make things a little better for yourself I do have some advice. Obviously you should make sure you arrive really early otherwise you will regret it. That is basically the only trick, its as simple as that. For someone like me missing a pitch for parking is like have a small needle put into you. It really hurts especially when you have to make the trip from Yankee country.(Like a good Brave I HATE the Yankees)
I hope you have a great time at Turner Field and if you don't go you can still watch them on TBS and also keep track on www.AtlantaBraves.com
