Teacher Created Resources™ Bees Border Trim is vivacious, animated, and is just plain fun.  This attention-grabbing border trim filled with perky, whimsical little insects.

The packet is 12 individual pieces, poly coated for added sturdiness and brightness to create a border measuring 35 feet in all.  While I have no bulletin board space per se in the classroom, I do use the corridor walls outside Osage County First Grade Classroom as our space for showcasing children’s work.

These are some fun little critters.  The motif begins with a bee skep set against a branch, now that is a little hard to fathom, however, it fits the whimsy of the total, kids like it, realize it is neither a paper wasp nest hanging in a tree, nor a bee hive per se and find it –cute-.  The fanciful, happy go lucky little bees themselves are shown skate boarding, reading books, wearing  sneakers, sweaters and shirts.

The first little bee is seen, big happy grin showing, eyes bright, sneakers on his feet, headphones no doubt filled with the latest tunes, skate boarding joyfully. 

Bee number 2 clad in a purple jacket, little slippers on her feet holds a little chalkboard upon which she is practicing her letters.

The next little eye glasses wearing fellow is flying to class with book in hand, back pack on his back and ball cap turned with the bill on his neck.  On his feet he wears sneakers, as do most of the Little Learners, in Osage County First Grade.

The last little lass is a cheer leader, holding pom poms she is wearing little MaryJanes, her cheer leading sweater and a huge bow atop her head. 

Each of the little bees has a rotund little form, sweet facial expressions and present a feeling of happiness and joy of life.

Classrooms having bulletin board space can use these border trimming pieces to pep up the classroom, delineate specific curriculum or area and to showcase children’s work, projects or exhibits. 

Crafted to industry standards using top choice raw materials to generate durable, hardwearing paper imprinted with non toxic inks in a myriad of child pleasing tints and shades produces a nice set of lengths useful for outlining windows, bulletin board or corridor exhibit area. 

I like to use the lengths for counting during the early part of the school term, cut apart the bees and skep are handy for more counting, matching and patterning activities.  Osage County First Grade enjoys yellow jackets, our school mascot, these little bees are close enough in the opinion of First Grade Little Learners.

I like this bright, lively, versatile border trim, some strips are used in the hall now and then to liven up the corridor while others are cut apart for math reinforcement activities.
