Pros: Excellent quality programming, I always find something first-rate on.
I love the Bravo Network so much, I watch at least one tv show or movie on it every day. I truly that it has some of the best quality viewing available on tv. It is part of my basic cable, doesn't cost anything extra like the premium channels, and it so excellent! I can turn it on at any time and find something really good on.
Some of the movies I have enjoyed recently on Bravo Include "The Brothers McMullen," a terrific independent film, Polish Wedding, Mystic Pizza, and The Spanish Prisoner. The Bravo Channel shows mostly contemporary movies, unlike amc and tcm, which show alot of movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's. These are fine, I enjoy watching Laurel & Hardy every now and then, but sometimes I find myself much more in the mood for a more modern day movie, one that I can relate to more. There are many excellent independent films shown on Bravo, many of which we would probably never get to see if it were not for Bravo ( or its sister network IFC).
In my opinion, some of the finest shows ever made are on Bravo, including Moonlighting and Thirtysomething. In my opinion these are two of the most well written, directed, produced and acted shows EVER on television. I enjoyed Thirtysomething so much when it was on regular tv and now I'm so glad that it's back. Thank You Bravo!
There also some excellent original programming such as Bravo Profiles, Inside the Actors Studio, and Influences. "Influences" is a show in which today's stars discuss stars of the past that have inspired them, "Bravo Profiles" concentrates on the artistic life of the actor, it tells the viewer what it's really like to be creative, "Inside the Actors Studio" features major artists who discuss acting in-depth, they tell all about their own history of acting, from acting classes to what their doing today. They share the secrets of how they have become so successful, they share what it's really like to be an actor. It is such an amazing show which focuses on the Creativity of acting. I have learned so much about acting from this exciting, informative show. This show is so excellent, it has REAL interviews, it doesn't seem phony at all, like I feel many of the talk shows are.
The Bravo network has so much to offer, it tells so much about the field of acting, acting as a craft that the actors are constantly striving to improve on, it really gets to the heart of the matter. I feel that if I am going to watch tv, I should watch a channel that is worth watching, that is informative, valuable, and very entertaining. This is how I feel the Bravo channel is and I think everyone should take a look at it to see how exciting it really is!
