Pros: A free trip to New York, getting to see what happens behind the scenes.
Cons: Maury sold himself out to be like Jerry.
The Bottom Line: I think fox had a pretty wide range of shows for all ages and preferences.

This is how it all started...my boyfriend e-mails his X-girlfriend to tell her that he doesn't think her son is his and he wants to do a paternity test (which he offered to pay for). A few weeks later he checks his e-mail and there was an email from a co-producer of the show. He calls the 1-800 number she gave him and she tells him his X-girlfriend called the show saying she wanted the test done and the results shown on T.V.
The show arranged for him to take the test, and off to New York we go...all expense paid of course.
We get to the studio and met all of the other guys that were on the show. We were shown to the green room where they had breakfast ready. Of course all of the other guys were going off about how the child in question with their case could in NO WAY be theirs...which made me laugh when the results were read on the show.
The show starts and I was in the audience while my boyfriend was back stage waiting for his turn to go on...and to say the truth, I was shocked at how "The New Maury Show is....it is a copy of Jerry Springer. There was a lot of yelling, and fighting between the couples on the show which was instigated by staff. The audience was yelling, making rude comments and booing the guests on the show like on Jerry, yet not like the old Maury Povich show.
We were disappointed in how the show went, because we thought things would be taken seriously and not all hyped up for ratings. That is why my boyfriend agreed to go on the show.
All in all, we had a good time in New York, and it was an experience to be on the show, but I think it is sad Maury has sold himself out for ratings.
My thoughts and prayers are going out to all of the family's and people effected by the terrorist acts against the world trade buildings in New York this morning. May God be with you all
