************************************
Once again I've waited until the last minute to post my epinion. But, this time I have a good reason. My trusty and loyal friend of 15 years past away today. My good ole dog has left this earth and gone to a better place this afternoon. May God be with her.
************************************
Now for my epinion. Now I know that most of you who own homes or even rent homes or apartments would like to improve on them. It just comes natural. Well if you are one of these people then I have just the thing for you. And you probably don't even have to go out and buy it. It's the Home and Garden channel on your tv. Just turn it on.
The channel offers a large amount of programs to help you out with your home improvement to make your home a better place to live and a great place for guests to come. Now I know that you guys out there are saying it's a channel that's only for women. Well this is totally untrue. Yeah several shows focus on girlie things like drapes and carpet, but a large amount of the shows focus on sprinkler installments and outside stuff too. I've even seen Bob Villa on a few shows. I'll first start out mentioning a few of my favorite shows:
Programs
Designing for the Sexes
Now I know that every married couple out there has had at least one argument over how to decorate or improve a certain part of their home. It could be as simple as what color drapes to put over the windows or as complicated as to whether or not to install a back yard swimming pool. Well this 30-minute program is the solution to any couples needs. The host of this show, Michael Payne, tackles home rennovation and improvement ideas with ways to keep both people happy. It's all about compromise and the host emphasizes this. Who needs marriage counseling...just tune in to the Home and Garden channel.
Decorating Cents
As the title of this program suggests, this show is about decorating and improving your home if you're on a budget. You've seen these shows before where the host has a wonderful idea for a home but all the rennovating takes a big bite out of your pocketbook. Not this show. The host Joan Steffend suggests makeovers and tips to make your house look wonderful all for under $500. That's cheap for home improvement. I'll admit some of the ideas she uses are a bit corny but they are all practical. Also the show just tries to suggest inexpensive objects and to use your imagination whether than laying each project out for you step by step. Other than this small factor though, I love this show because I, myself am on a budget but still care about my home.
Homes Across America
Do any of you remember that old show that was on that had to do with the homes of the rich and famous. Or have any of you caught any recent episodes of Cribs. Wish you could have a nice house like that? Me too. Well since us common folk can't possible have homes like that, this is the show for us. The host Joe Ruggerio travels across the country and shows the viewer three homes each episode of people that can't afford expensive items but still care about their home and have decorated in beautiful fashion. You can't miss this program.
Appraisal Fair
This is one of my favorite shows on the Home and Garden channel and it deals nothing with home or gardening. The host of this show, Leslie Hindman takes ordinary garage sale items, appraises them, then announces their extraordinary value on the show. You'll be extremely surprised at the prices these antiques get appraised for. You can even get your items appraised on this program. Contact:

Webpage
Now I know that most of you would like to know when these shows appear on the Home and Garden channel. This is easy. Simply check out the website of the television channel.
http://www.hgtv.com
The website lays it out for you by clicking on the "on tv" link on the homepage. Also on the webpage are very convenient project calculators. If you're thinking of doing anything to building a fence to planting grass, these calculators estimate the price and time your project will take to allow you ample time and space to finish your project. It couldn't get any more convenient than that.
The webpage often offers web exclusives that aren't shown on the channels shows themselves. Extensions and follow ups of the programs can also be found on the website as well. If you want to stay frequently in touch with shows and programs on the Home and Garden channel, you might consider signing up for their newsletter that informs subscribers about the latest news on the channel. It also frequently offers prizes to win and sweepstakes to enter.
There is also a store to purchase everything from hats to past programs on VHS. I'd highly recommend checking out the website if you don't have the Home and Garden channel in your area. It covers almost as much as the channel itself.
If you don't have this channel and you'd like to get it, call your local cable service and ask for the Home and Garden Television channel. I'm positive they'll offer it. If it costs more to upgrade, remember it'll all be worth it with the improvements done to your home.
(I'm plan on adding a little more to this epinion as I get some more info but I wanted to get posted what I had before this writeoff ended tonight. Thanks for reading.)
