I’ve shopped with QVC for more than 10 years. I find their hosts very informative. In fact I started my doll-collecting hobby in good part because QVC when selling dolls gave extensive information on what qualities make a doll a collectable.
I click in and out while watching another channel; if something catches my eye I’ll listen to the presentation. This becomes habit forming and I have to restrain myself. There have been times when I’ve brought on impulse, but they have a 30-day return policy and I take full advantage of that.
My elderly mother purchased something she later decided she didn’t want but she lost the shipping receipt and didn’t know how much time had passed since she ordered the product. I called customer service and they were kind enough to take the product back after the 30 days and gave me the numbers to include with the returned product. QVC’s goodwill locked my family in as loyal customers.
In another incident I had purchased a vacuum cleaner from QVC. Months later, I received a letter from QVC saying the product was not giving their customers the value they had expected. I could return it for a full refund. I was very impressed.
The only thing that stops me from shopping more often is the high shipping and handling charges and state tax. Many times I feel I’m paying higher state tax than if I brought the product in my state.
Don’t hesitate to purchase from QVC. You’ll find quality, value and convenience but watch those shipping and handling charges. Know that QVC adds state taxes on all of your purchases, so you may pay taxes on merchandise that isn’t taxed in local stores. The States must love the extra income this brings. Grrrrrr.
QVC has also been a great help to my family. I have bought many gifts from them, as well as necessities for the home. I am a very busy person. I have found that I can throw the tv onto QVC, while cooking, cleaning, and even reading. Then I can shop while I am doing things that need to be done.
Disclaimer: I am a new member, and this was my first review. I originally posted it in Kids and Family, but someone pointed out that it might fit better in the QVC area. I didn't realize there was a QVC area, but now I realize that this is a better place to put it.
