Pros: Great characters, unique "world."
Cons: Can be an acquired taste.
The Bottom Line: With a cinema-like spectacle, Farscape is one of the best sci-fi shows currently in production.

When I was a kid, I didn’t realize you could change Halloween costumes. So each year, I busted out the aluminum foil and a big cardboard box.
"What are you? A toaster?"
I thought it was obvious that I was a Robot, I guess I didn’t realize the neighbors attempts at humor. Yeah buddy, I’m a toaster and my head is the bread. Very funny. Now hand over the candy – no fruit, I got my eye on you, punk.
So anyway, I love sci fi. They keep canceling the Star Trek series, Next Generation has been gone for a long time, Deep Space Nine is gone, and Voyager has one season left.
I had to do something fast.
In Farscape, Jim Henson productions has created a rich, unique sci-topia! One reason why it works so well is because the aliens aren’t just regular people with a bump on their nose, they’re actual weird looking aliens. The ship is a giant living character named Moya – she was pregnant all last season and finally had her baby ship. Acting wise, the cast is really great and the show has some really far out plots that allow them to stretch.
Farscape creates a sci fi world without the clean lines and stiff protocols of the very American Star Trek. Don’t get me wrong, I love Star Trek, and if you do to, then I recommend watching Farscape.
The only thing is, you have to give it a few episodes before you make your decision because it takes some acclimation. The first time I saw it, I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. I do now!
