My boys and I always enjoyed the game of Trouble. So when my nephew asked for Smurfs Pop N Race Game I figured it was the same as Trouble but with a Smurf theme.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game is recommended for children five and older and requires two to four players to play. The object of the game is to get your four movers home before anyone else. Smurfs Pop N Race Game is made by Pressman.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game comes with a plastic game board that has a game die popper in the middle of the board and 16 movers. The movers come in four different colors. The colors are red, blue, green and yellow. There are four of each color. The popper in the middle of the board has a die in it that is numbered one through six.


Each player takes four of the same movers and places them in the start for that color. Each player pops the popper and the highest number on the die goes first.


The first player starts and must pop a 6 to move from the start. If they do not pop a 6, the next player goes. If they do pop a 6 they move their mover onto the playing area and take another turn. You must move your mover around the board and get it back to the home base before the other players do. Play continues until one person has all the movers home.


If you land on a space that is already occupied by another mover of a different color, you send them back to the start.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game is fun to play and encourages counting, number recognition, color recognition and strategy. It does not require any reading skills to play.  Smurfs Pop N Race Game is just like Trouble but with a Smurf theme which is what I thought when I purchased it.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game is a game that the whole family will enjoy playing. It can be played by old and young alike. It is a game I do not mind playing.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game is a relatively inexpensive game. I purchased it online for $9.99. It still sells for around the same price. I have seen the game sold in stores and online. If you know a preschooler that likes the Smurfs, I think they would enjoy Smurfs Pop N Race Game. I think the game would also make a nice addition to any preschool game cabinet.


Smurfs Pop N Race Game could be made a bit better. We have one of the old Trouble games and games just aren’t made like they use to be. The Smurfs Pop N Race Game is more cheaply made but it has been holding up to play. You do need to put the game back in the box and put it away when you are done because if you step on the popper, it will break. And yes I am talking from experience. The movers are small so I put them in a Ziploc bag before putting them back in the box as they could get lost. They could also be a choking hazard for small children.


Pressman's Smurfs Pop N Race Game is a game that we all enjoy playing and we would recommend it to others.
