The Bottom Line: I would recommend running to your nearest tech store to buy this laptop if you don't have one already, it comes equipped with everything you need to succeed.
Despite the nonsense you may hear from people around town, Toshiba laptops are a great starting laptop. I was skeptical when I first bought my Toshiba laptop because I heard it only has two USB ports and 4GB of memory, but it has everything you need. This is a great laptop for any student, casual computer user, or businessman/ businesswoman who don’t need any special equipment.

1) The performance is great; the Toshiba C675 comes equipped with Intel Pentium Processor B950 ( or i3), Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, mobile Intel HD graphics and 64MB of shared graphics memory. Basically, the picture quality is capable of displaying 720p graphics (above average) and a B950 processor or i3 is fast, not an i7 but fast. The difference in speed between i3 and i7 is noticeable, and the log in time and internet access loading time will cost you an extra 3 to 5 seconds with an i3 processor (I know first world problems!).
2) The C675 has 4GB of memory, a 500GB hard drive an DVD SuperMulti Drive. There is no need to worry about hard drive space even if many apps are downloaded and the DVD drive is capable of reading double layered cds (+/-R). From experience of listening to DVD’s, music and audiobooks the sound quality is OK at best and is very quiet. Many times I have to turn the system volume all the way up to hear people speak.
3) The visual display is great, however, the HD TruBrite LED backlight has a wide range of brightness and picture quality is superb. By the way, the display resolution is 1600 x 900 and the laptop screen is 17.3", which is very spacious. This laptop can support a headphone jack, microphone jack and any standard stereo speakers. The C675 has no modem port, no Bluetooth capability but has Wi-Fi networking, Ethernet LAN 10/100 capability and webcam and microphone for communication or other endeavors.
4) The Toshiba is powered by a Li-ion battery (48Wh, 6 cell) with a battery life up to 5 hours and a 65 Watt AC, auto sensing adapter. As a student at Penn State, this laptop has been reliable and simply, it gets the job done for a low price of around $350 to 450 (depending on your purchasing domain).
TRUST ME, this is a relatively cheap, dependable starting laptop for a common user.
