We flew on Eva Air Evergreen Deluxe class from San Francisco to Taipei and back again. Exergreen Deluxe is upgraded coach class. We compared the cost to that of coach and business class on other airlines such as Cathay Pacific, China Airlines and Thai. Evergreen Deluxe was only about $250 to $300 RT more than coach on the other airlines and was several hundred dollars less than business class.
What does Evergreen Deluxe buy you? Slightly wider seats that recline a little farther back with footrest. Each seat has its own monitor with several movie channels and TV shows and news regularly cycling. You also could look at a display of a map showing where the plane was at any given time. We were travelling with a child and there was usually at least one show on that was suitable for a small child. This is a good airline for travel with a child. In this class of service, they gave a choice of gift to the child and the child's menu food was very good. In general, food on this airline was good.
Both of our flights were smooth and very timely. On the return, we flew from HCMC in Vietnam to Taipei and then to San Francisco. We had a several hour layover in Taipei. Eva provided a dinner for us which I thought was nice.
The only negative is that I wish the seat had reclined back farther to help in sleeping. However, for an upgraded coach class, it was probably the best I could reasonably expect.
