I don't know where to go with this problem, maybe you can help.
Keith Brooks
In Nov I was to fly to the Philippines on an extended working vacation to start up a travel site.
I purchased my tickets via a courier service, but was charged by Korean Air and subsequently paid for the ticket via credit card through Korean Air.
I changed my flight to a week prior to Thanksgiving instead of the week after Thanksgiving after I paid for the tickets. I never received my hard copies of the tickets and contiously called Korean Air to ensure everything is okay.
However, I was assured by several operators I would not have to pay anything more than $75 for tickets to be re-issued.
I flew to Los Angeles and tried to check into the flight. The receptionist quickly charged me $850 dollars for a new ticket.
I showed them proof I paid for the ticket, however, they said either pay for the $850 or don't get on the flight.
I wound up having to go home. After, spending money on hotel rooms, two extra domestic tickets and shuttles, I spent nearly $680. I asked Korean Air to compensate me because of their bad service.
I was told no and sorry. But, please fly us again.
When I returned to the States in April. My laptop was broken. I quickly notified Korean Air, by telephone, e mail and a certified letter.
Five times in the next six days and Korean Air refused to answer my requests 4 of the six times.
Finally, I was sent an e mail asking me for details. I quickly answered the e mail. Then three days later received a decline letter stating I waited too long to file a claim.
In the seven days prior, I called once (left message), sent four e mails and one certified letter. But, Korean Air said I didn't file a claim within the seven days.
They also claimed I put my laptop in my carry on luggage and therefore they also don't have to pay for the laptop.
Not only that, I finally discovered after flying 5 round trip trips with this airline, I can only muster an upgrade to business class if I fly one more round trip ticket with Korean Air.
$3,500 dollars in plane tickets. I can't even get a 50% discount on tickets. That's sad.
Korean Air is a terrible airline and I hope no one flies with them.
I filed complaints with the better business bureau, USA Today and The Dept' of Transportation.
I finally had to open a website www.koreanairsucks.net to show how bad this airline is.
Doing much research, I discovered several people has had much worse experiences than I did even one lady suited because she was sexually assaulted on the airline and Korean Air refused to help her much other than giving her a new seat.
