Pros: Great cabin crew service.
Cons: An idiot pilot who likes cabin temperature at 82F with no airflow.
The Bottom Line: Don't fly this. There's a 25% you'll get the pilot who likes to keep the cabin temperature sweating warm and no air circulating. Try sweating for the entire international flight.

| dantematrix's Full Review: Korean Air |
Like all other Asian airlines, Korean Air's services are terrific. No attitudes and great service. UNLESS you get this one pilot who likes to keep the cabin temperature on the WARM side.
I had flown many airlines. Usually on international flights that lasts for 18 hours or more. And I had always found that the Asian airlines provides the best services. Their stewardess are friendly, no attitudes a la United Airlines. You ask them a question and they'll try to answer you as quickly and concisely as possible. The western airlines' stewardess always has an attitude of you're imposing on them when you want something. Not so the Asian airlines.
I found that Korean Air (along with Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines) personnel has a firm grasp of english. You don't need to worry about communicating your needs to them in english. Need to know when the flights departing? Ask in english. Need to preorder vegetarian food for the flight? Ask in english. Got a medical problem? Inform them in english.
The food is great and there's always a western food option. Although I always try to eat their local style to get a feel of it. And the Korean stewardess is more than happy to show you how to mix the dishes and eat it. The stewardess are also slim and easy on the eyes. They actually fit down the aisle without bumping into you every other second, waking you up. Trying watching one of those hairy behemouths on United Airlines. ARGH.
I had also found that Asian airlines do not cancel flights - unless it's weather related. United Airlines cancelled two international flights on me because one stewardess didn't show up on time (drunk?) and another for no apparent reason (a pilot with a hangnail?). Korean Air, and most other westernized Asian airlines, likes to keep their word.
And yet, despite all this GREAT SERVICE and they are GREAT, by Korean Air, I WOULD NOT fly Korean Air again. A few years ago, I had gotten upset with Korean Air and vowed never again. Than I forgot and my wife booked me on Korean Air again. On the flight from NYC to Seoul, it was GREAT. On the flight back from Seoul to NYC, I REMEMBERED why I hated Korean Air. I got the same pilot I had a few years back. This imbecilic pilot likes to keep the cabin temperature on the WARM side. This year, it wasn't as bad. It was just uncomfortably warm. A few years ago, it was sweating warm for the whole flight. This imbecile pilot also likes to turn off the air circulation. So it's WARM AND STUFFY. I was lucky this year, a first class passenger must have complained, and the heat was turned off and the air started circulating in mid flight (6 hours of stuffy warm air).
By doing a statistical calc, I figure it's a 25% chance that you'd get this imbecile pilot who's on manoupause. He's got to be bleeding to like it this warm. For a 14 hour flight, this 25% chance of sweating like a pig is NOT worth it. I would pick another Asian airline if I were you.
Latest sweat flight: KE85 Departing Incheon 1/13/2006 to JFK.
