The staff was the best part of the trip. They were kind and tried to help, but unfortunately, I don't think they understand that they had enough authority on the flight to make amends for anything. They have no power to make things right except to suggest to contact the KAL people by email. Their internet site is one of the worst to navigate.
My flight from Japan to Korea was delayed and there was no clear explanation for why it was. On board, there is no entertainment service and the food is one of the worst. On that day, we had very tough squid meat in a spicy hot sauce... only one choice for this international flight. When I said I couldn't eat such dried up squid in hot sauce, the stewardess brough me two rolls with butter.
I've been spoiled by Singapore Air, I think. But as a person who travels frequently, I'm not sure why Korean Air managers are allowed to work in this company which is representative of their nation. The company says excellence in flight is their motto, but clearly they have a long way to go. They need to stop investing in all the wrong and unnecessary things like brand image and uniforms and get back to the things that count for customers... like comfort, nice amenities, and friendly excellent service that doesn't end in rolls with butter.
I avoid KAL as much as I can.
