This summer I flew to Thailand to bring my fiancee and her two small kids to my home. We flew on Delta Airlines and Korean Airlines, a code share partner of Delta Airlines. (See my review of Delta.) The Korean Airlines segment was from JFK in New York City to Bangkok, Thailand and back. I was expecting better from Korean Air.
The flight attendants seemed harried and too busy for the passengers but I couldnt see what they could be doing. The service was the minimum they needed to get by. The food was incredible. And iinedible. On the west bound segment I had the "western style" dinner. It was supposed to be some kind of beef. I suppose somewhere, under all that burnt, greasy gravy, between the fat and the gristle, was some cow protein. I didnt notice it. I couldnt eat it. On the east bound flight I and my new Thai family ordered the "Asian" dinner. It was worse than the "western style" dinner. Even my Asian family couldn't eat the Asian food served by Korean Airlines. When you consider that the oldest kid has eaten everything here but the bark on the trees you get some idea what the food was like.
I have been back and forth to Asia several times and this was the worst experience yet.
