Outstanding Airline, one of the best in the world

Cons: None, apart from having to transit in Kuala Lumpur

I have travelled Malaysia Airlines (MAS) many times to destinations in India (Chennai and Mumbai) and every time, the airline has been outstanding.
Booking has been done through both the MAS website and third party sites like Zuji (Travelocity's Singapore partner).
Flights have always been on time, and on new A330s to Kuala Lumpur(KL) (1 hour flight) and B777's to Mumbai. Even the older B747-400's to Chennai have been refurbished to include IFEs on every seat.
The food is also good and the flight crew are pleasant and friendly. The seats were clean, comfortable and the seat pitch was generous, comparable to economy class in Singapore Airlines which charges far more for its flights than MAS does.
The best thing about flying MAS however is the price. Tickets are almost always cheaper than Singapore Airlines and Jet Airways on the same sector between Singapore and Mumbai/Chennai. The service is comparable and in fact I think it is better than the famous Singapore Airlines service. The flight crew are more friendly and warm, and appear less 'plastic' than SQ staff.
The only problem I have is having to transit at KL for flights from Singapore, but since KL airport is one of the best in the world, the transit is often extremely pleasant. Also, Malaysia Airlines is currently not a member of major alliances like Star or Oneworld. Someone like me who travels Star Alliance flights quite often would rather use Singapore Airlines to gain miles, despite prefering to fly Malaysia. If MAS joined Star on Skyteam it would be great (for me!)
