Qantas has been the airline I always take when travelling around the world, not one of their planes has crashed and their food and hospitality is always perfect. There isn't much leg room between you and the seat in front but that is the same in all airlines so you can't hold that against them. If you do go overseas to Australia, seeing that is where the airline is from, I suggest you go Buisness class if you can afford it, there is so much more room and luxury.
Inflight Movies are on a decent sized screen, and if you're on an angle where it's going to be hard for you to see the screen, there's a smaller one, just for you, where you can see it. And you don't have to pay for the headphones they hand out...which is fantastic. Also, in the arm rest (where you plug the headphones in) you can select whether you'd like to listen to a wide range of music programs/radio stations.
They also give you a flight package which consists of a blindfold to help with sleeping, blankets in case you get cold, socks, in case you want to walk around without your shoes. there's also a toothbrush, with toothpaste and, even, if i remember correctly, a hairbrush.
The service left nothing to be complained about over...and if anything does go wrong for you, they're always in a hurry to make you happy again.
On the downside? Well, i can't think of any, apart from the inflight movies being not so great - 'The Deep End of the Ocean', and 'The Out-Of-Towners'. If you're flying to or around Australia, i recommend you use Qantas.
