Pros: 1 in our 8 flights had decent in flight entertainment
Cons: very rude, very unhelpful, over-charged with no refund, horrible experience.
The Bottom Line: AirFrance brush off disatisfied passengers. They won't help, just tell you to speak to someone-else. Their flights are below standard, but with a price matching better airlines. Avoid, unless unavoidable!

We recently got married and booked almost £3000 worth of flights with AirFrance, from London to South Africa and Paris to Mexico. They were rude, unhelpful, dishonest and generally way below standard through out.
Such as...
...telling us the day before we flew to get married that we couldn't take a wedding dress on board, either in the hold or cabin, even though we had mentioned it at booking and once later. When we booked, they said there would be no problem. The day before we flew, they said "send it by DHL".
...having accepted our wedding dress (which only needed hanging up in a half empty plane) they told us we must check in all other hand baggage, and then proceeded to charge as £350 for excess baggage! This charge was for 13Kgs overweight. We should have been allowed 12Kg each of hand baggage, but were incorrectly told at check-in that we were only allowed the wedding dress as hand luggage for both of us!
...We complained to a supervisor later about the (incorrect) excess baggage charge, and were offered an upgrade instead of a refund. We accepted this, but found that no upgrade was in place when we got on the plane.
...after complaining about being overcharged for "excess baggage" and not getting the upgrade we accepted instead, we were told over the telephone that this was a checkin error and we would be refunded. When I asked for a fax confirming that, I was put on hold for 20 minutes then told that they couldn't actually give the refund after all.
...Despite standing in the Paris ticket office of Air France, they would not allow me to see a supervisor to raise my compliant, nor use a telephone to ring the Air France bookings office through which the tickets were bought.
... 11 hours flight to SA with no viewable in flight entertainment. Flight was the same cost as a flight that does have a proper standard of in-flight entertainment
... 12 hour flight from Mexico. 1 small meal roll for breakfast. 1 small bottle of water. 1 film in spanish at 4am
... the letter of complaint to AirFrance went on for 9 pages. So far, they have not dealt satisfactorily with any point.
... I sent a second letter of complaint to the UK commercial director. After 3 weeks, there has been no reply yet.
Other wedding guests had similar bad stories from other Air France flights. Our french guests refuse to fly with them, and had advised us to cancel when they heard about our problems.
I strongly recommend that Air France should only be booked if there are no other choices.
