Pros: True French experience, where *you* be the one to be having the fun ...
Cons: ... accordingly don't expect to be thanked for oppressing the workers.
The Bottom Line: Do it if you like French culture. Don't do it if you expect them to worship you mcdonalds-style.

| williamnz82's Full Review: Air France |
I love Air France as it is just so quintessentially French. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) this review pertains to intra-European flights only.
Living in Paris, Air France is usually the cheapest (youth fares) and most effective way to fly around Europe (who wants to change planes for a 2 hour flight?).
There is the lovely tricolore (red white and blue) stripey 80s décor, the flight crew who are style-coordinated with this theme, and the black coffee and croissants served on the morning flights. Then they go to the back of the plane and chat. They're just like the waiters at my corner café !
It's usually a very no-nonsense affair - you check in at the Charles de Gaulle hub, making sure you have your elbows ready to send queue-jumpers to the back (or yourself to the front), you angle your head back 15 degrees and stiffly but politely request to be checked in and your frequent flyer details to be recorded.
Then everyone files on, the flight crew welcome you aboard, you have your nice drinks, and then jazz music is played as you taxi in.
I seriously like it! But then again, I'm the sort of person who finds New Yorkers incredibly polite and helpful (despite their reputation), so maybe I've lived here too long??
Probably not a great choice long haul (ie, when attentive service matters) ... or if you expect to be *served* rather than *assisted*.
