Pros: Good food.
Cons: Not as friendly. Customer service abroad was not as hospitable.
The Bottom Line: If you're going to fly Air France, take a carry-on only.

| rhapsodyblue's Full Review: Air France |
This was my first time flying with Air France to London from NYC. (I really wanted to fly British Airways.) I was traveling with a friend (first time out of the country). We left from JFK and everything went smoothly until we landed and were making a connecting flight in Paris to London. My travel companion lost her boarding pass or she was never issued one (we don't know). We were trying to keep from freaking out because we only had about an hour to catch our connecting flight. We spoke to a lady and explained to her our situation - she was not helpful. She said that we would we need to purchase another ticket. My friend thought that was ridiculous but eventually agreed (if we were to ever get to London) to purchase another ticket.
Now, I've never lost a ticket or heard of someone losing their ticket and as a result if they were to continue their journey on time, they had to (purchase another ticket).
The lady then tells us we had to go to a ticket office. We were not given very good directions but eventually found it. We explained our situation again to the clerk and hoping he could help us because we had a flight to catch. The clerk helped us, luckily for us, but he took his sweet a** time. He would glance over at his watch and do what he needed to do leisurely. Regardless of how we thought that was rather obnoxious, we thanked the clerk (who didn't charged us) and went off to catch our flight.
After about a week, we returned safely home. When I went to unpack, I noticed the locks on my suitcase were missing. At first, I thought I may have taken someone else's luggage. When I opened it, I almost didn't recognize the mess in my luggage. I thought was robbed. I was upset to say the least. Everything that was neatly packed away was turned upside down, rummaged through, and smashed back into my luggage. And on top of that it was a brand new luggage, and came back with scratches and tears (it arrived fine in London). Luckily nothing was stolen but that didn't explain why my luggage was violated so I immediately called Air France to complain. I explained the situation and how upset I was upon finding the condition of my luggage. The customer rep explained to me it was customs doing a search. I felt a little better but it did not excuse the lack of consideration for my property. So the rep suggested a send a letter regarding my complaint. I did, along with photos of my damaged luggage, and after about a month or so, I got a response and apology and compensation. I was pleased with the result.
