I recently traveled on the concorde from England to New York. The return home started at the Concorde lounge in the airport. It was very opulent with phones, desks for working, couches, chairs, and best of all . . . snacks! There was a variety of soda, juice and other beverages as well as light snacks. After shopping around for a while it was time to board the plane.
Despite the Concorde's reputation as a small plane, it was quite spacious. There was a large screen up front which announced the speed, altitude, and when we reached mach 2. Shortly after a smooth takeoff, we were served beverages, and later lunch with a choice between two meals. I only remember the one I had which was a delicious steak. The service was quite excellent, and the pilot had helpful info regarding the plane.
All though the flight is not at all long, there was a station which I listened to (the kind where you plug headphones into the arm of the seat) with many different comedians. It was quite entertaining. The plane landed smoothly and on time. I thought that it would feel different, flying at mach 2, but really it felt pretty much the same. Even looking out of the window it didn't look that fast. Although I would recommend this flight to other travelers, in the light of the recent . . . problem, you may not be flying on it for a while (I am not sure if this is still the case).
