Lufthansa was a disappointment!

Pros: On time flight, no lost luggage.
Cons: Unfriendly staff, terrible English , business class seats were the same as coach.
The Bottom Line: If you are going to have a short length flight in Lufthansa, save your bucks and fly coach - business class is not worth the money!

I had flown with Lufthansa many years ago, in my teens, and though I don't remember details of the flights, I got the impression that I enjoyed them and that it was an excellent airline.
Traveling a lot in Europe, I try to fly in Qualiflyer airlines and accumulate miles. Lufthansa is not one of the Qualiflyer companions.
In my recent trip to Budapest I flew with TAP to Munich and from Munich to Budapest in Lufthansa. I was really anxious to experience Lufthansa, rated and described as one of the best European airlines.
TAP, as ever, had an almost an hour delay on the flight and we arrived at Munich airport with 20 minutes left for the Lufthansa flight departure. We had to run all along the airport to the opposite side to do the check -in, which was already closing by the time we got there.
We had Business Class tickets 4D and 4E and when I saw the narrow and tiny seats I asked the stewardess if that was Business class. She told me yes and asked me to seat in a rude tone.
Well, the plane was a Lufthansa Cityline ARG, from the description on the paper. It was a rather small plane, with about 20 seat rows. The first four rows were Business. The left rows (seat A and B) had two larger seats and the right ones (seats D, E and F) had three tiny seats. It didn't matter if it was Business or Coach, all the seats were the same. So, if we had Coach seats A or B, we would be much better seated! Those seats were even tinier than regular coach seats!The division between the two classes was made by curtains that were always left opened.
I must say that I travel also in coach class, specially when traveling with my kids. My husband is the one who likes to travel business class. I think sometimes it's a waste of money but one of the good things that the better class has is to have larger and more comfortable seats.
The plane left on time, with only 5 minutes delay. There was only a steward and a stewardess to attend all people during this 1 hour and 10 minutes flight. The girl told the usual instructions in German first and then in a terrible English I didn't understand a word!
Then she offered some magazines to us "lucky" ones who were traveling in "business", without even looking at us. I can understand they were unfriendly - those two had to make everything in this short flight. That must be stressful! Is Lufthansa so short of money to have only two people attending a flight?
Our meal consisted of two kinds of cold breads, a dish with cold meats, an apple cake, some butter and the usual beverages. Lucky ones! I managed to turn back and tried to get a glimpse of what people in the back rows were eating and I saw a chocolate, an Actimel and a beverage, I don't know if they had something else.
Before the end of the flight the first four rows were offered a choice of chocolate, aperitifs or some plane form gums.
The flight was smooth and the landing was nicely done.
Though our previous flight with TAP was delayed hopefully our luggage didn't get lost and we had no problems with it.
I don't know the price of this flight because we paid the full ticket but I checked the net for the price of this Lufthansa's Munich-Budapest flight in Business Class and it costs 420 Euros. I am honest with you! Don't spend this money if you are going to fly with them in such a short trip! It isn't worth the extra money! Book a coach ticket and be sure you have an A or C seat. You will be comfortably seated and you will save some bucks!
And Lufthansa, you really left me disappointed, and the reason I don't rate you 2 stars is because you didn't loose my luggage and the plane flew on time!
