Pros: Low price, excellent food, free booze! :)
Cons: Very cramped and some planes are old.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely use this airline again, though I will more careful to get better seats with more leg room...good food, good service, on time, but cramped.

| caspian321's Full Review: Air Jamaica |
I have only been on four flights for Air Jamaica, but overall, my experience was a very good one.
All four of my flights took off on time, and they usually board you a bit earlier than most other airlines seem to. This gets everyone in their seats and buckled up in time to take off.
The planes were clean, but the seats were very close together. I am 6'2" and in almost every flight the person in front put their seat back down...there was not enough room for this. However, many other airlines are as bad (Delta may be even worse). On one of the flights the plane seemed pretty old (at least the seats did) and the seats were a bit banged up and seemed to be missing some stuffing...but the other three flights were fine.
I can't say that the stewards and stewardesses were rude, but they weren't friendly either. They were as polite as needed...nothing more nothing less. I have no complaints about them.
The food and beverage service is excellent! On each flight we were served real food (usually a choice), not just a bag of pretzels and a bit of soda. Breakfast on one flight was a choice of eggs (my choice) or french toast (my wife's choice). Both were pretty good. We also received lunch on two of the flights..one was a chicken and herb dish, and the other was a salad with chicken in it...both were very good. The one dinner we had was also very good...choice of fish or another chicken. Yeah..it's a lot of chicken, but all were prepared differently and were interesting. There was a dessert or snack with each of the meals as well, and some of these were simply outstanding. The two that stand out in my mind were a key lime cake and the other was a pound cake with custard and cocoa powder.
For drinks you have the usual sodas, mixers, coffee, and water that all airlines serve, but you also have your choice of a can of Red Stripe beer, champagne or wine. None of these cost extra. They still have the other beers and liquor for a charge, as on all other airlines.
We saw movies on two of the flights, and they were both recent movies and very enjoyable. All were edited for family watching (curse words overdubbed, etc)
Overall, my only complaint with this airline was the seating. Everything else was fine.
I noticed that many of the other reviewers based their bad experiences on things that the Airline does not have control over. Many (if not most) times delays for flights are caused by airport problems or weather. Furthermore, the poor state of Montego Bay airport is not the fault of Air Jamaica either. Yes, I agree it is a bad airport, but let's not take it out on Air Jamaica.
