Pros: Business class at Coach class prices. English speaking stewards. On-time take off and landings.
Cons: The major Con is they weigh your carry-on bag! Hard to understand overhead announcements
The Bottom Line: I recommend the airline overall - especially if you want Business class at a cut rate fee. Just watch out for the weight of your carry on bag!

| kcocat's Full Review: Grupo TACA |
We flew TACA from San Francisco to Belize (via El Salvador) for our honeymoon late February 2004. I was initally very hesitant, however, after reviewing safety records and the fact they have the newest fleet of all the airlines I agreed to give them a go.
We were able to fly TACA business class for the same price as coach would've cost on American/Continental, and those carriers from the US. (there is no 1st vs. business, I call it business as it is most similar to that or 1st class as found on domestic flights). I would definitely recommend flying business class, as the coach section was absolutely packed and I'm assuming the food there wasn't very good as most folks were bringing their own on board with them(boxed chicken seemed to be the favorite). The food in Business was good but by no means fabulous. The staff all speak fluent english and we were very comfortable in our big fat seats for our long flight.
You're permitted plenty of baggage - providing it's checked. They weigh the carry-on, so watch out. It was either 20 or 25 pounds (my memory is fuzzy now), and as our goal was not to check any bags this became a problem! Our bags were overweight, but we 'requested' an exception as they were only over by about 2-3 pounds each. Luckily they granted the exception (I assume they may not be so lenient had we flown coach). While the stewards speak fluent english, when they do the overhead announcements they speak so fast you can barely understand what they are saying.
