Pros: cheap price (but not much less than others)
Cons: Poor ticket change and refund service
The Bottom Line: This airline redefines the phrase "Fly by Night" operation

I purchased tickets for a Christmas trip from Chicago to Costa Rica via Travelocity on TACA / Lacsa airlines.
2 weeks after the purchase and still 3 months prior to the trip, I was notified that my outbound leg had been changed for one 2 days later (on Christmas Eve) and it was now a red-eye flight and my return flight was changed for one 12 hours later with a 12:35 AM arrival.
When I called to inquire about the changes I was told that it was impossible to get the original date back and to return the ticket in person for a refund to the ticket counter (a 250 mile round trip). Now I find out that the ticket counter at O'Hare is not even operational for another 6 weeks.
The 800 numbers published on the TACA web site are redirected to a call center in El Salvador. The call center personnel assured me that that the office in Chicago was operational even though they would not provide a phone number or terminal location. There is no listing in Chicago directory assistance for either TACA or Lacsa or variations of these names.
