Egyptair Refund Warning

Here is a warning about buying a ticket with Egyptair. If there is the slightest chance that you cannot make the flight then be prepared for a long, long wait for a refund. I purchased a ticket for my fiance and when she was unable to fly I got the travel agent to advise them the day before. I was told there were cancellation fees and that is fair enough and acceptable. I have now been waiting over 8 weeks for the refund, my travel agent faxes their office daily but no one replies. Today she managed to get them on the phone, which she tells me is not easy to do most days and to be put on hold for 20 minutes and more is quite normal. We have now been told that the refund is in the next batch to be processed but it will still take another 3 to 4 weeks. I certainly hope the service in the air is of a better standard but I for one am not going to chance it.
