I fly at least 3 times a year, and American Airlines is the way to go! Last Christmas me and a friend were flying to California to spend the holidays with some family and they changed our flight on us, without even letting us know! I found out by accident when i called to give my frequent flyer number to them.
After we arrived back home, i wrote a letter of complaint. I was very annoyed that they didn't contact us with the change, and let them know about it. A friend of mine who is a Travel Agent told me that no airline will compensate for changing a flight, and that it states it right there on the ticket, that they are not responsible. I still had hope that they would do something, and low and behold, three weeks later i got a nice letter from them, with two $100 ticket vouchers good toward the purchase of a ticket. American Airlines is the most compensating of any airline that i have ever traveled on, and their customer service is the best out there. The only thing bad about American Airlines is that it is hard to get a flight at short notice.
