I usually take about two trips a year and I try to fly with American Airlines to be able to someday collect my rewards miles. It sometimes seems like a mirage with all the fighting and arguing you have to do for them to post those miles to your account.
Their flights are usually on a good schedule and with whatever weather and mechanical conditions they encounter they are doing a pretty good job.
The inside comfort in a different situation. The seating is absolutely atrocious, too many people and not enough room. They try to jam as many seats as they possibly can and they forget that people have legs. You just do not know what to do when you are stuck in the middle and usually your neighbors are the kind that would require two seats each. You also have no elbow room so how can you possibly eat whatever they throw at you. Should you also wish to stretch your legs, it becomes a superhuman task.
The flight attendants are on a whole very pleasant and cooperative and they are trying to do their best in a losing situation. The airline should definitely improve on the people's comfort (their main asset for them to stay in business).
GOOD NEWS. AMERICAN AIRLINES just announced that they are removing rows of seats to be able to improve leg room. On this good news I am going to recommend to fly American and give them a better than average rating.
