Pros: Bonus miles everywhere you look!

The Bottom Line: Definitely sign up! If you are flying Alaska EVER, don't hesitate to sign up.

I just love the Alaska mileage plan. I get so many bonus miles, and they rack up fast. First, I signed up for the plan online and got 500 miles to start, then I enrolled in their My Alaska Air program which is just a way to log in on their site and it has your reservations etc. listed. I got 1500 miles for that. Then I bought my ticket online on their website and I got 5000 miles for that. Then I used web check in and I got another 500 miles. That's 7500 miles before I even got to the airport!
On my return trip I upgraded to first class with their ITM while I was checking in and I got 1000 miles for using the ITM, plus a 50% bonus on my actual flight miles because I was in first class. After all that, I got home and found a mileage bonus deal they were running, and all I had to do was call them, and I got an additional 2000 miles! I was left with over 10,000 miles in just one trip, which earns a first class upgrade for my next round trip!
Although most of these bonuses were one-time things because they were the first times, Alaska still gives you many different bonuses which pop up every once and a while, plus you can earn extra miles by eating at certain restaurants, etc.
Overall I think this plan is one of if not the best mileage plan, and I hope you take advantage of it.
