Pros:Comfortable seats, a bit extra leg room, good service, friendly staff
Cons:Three-across seating
As a former New Yorker who now lives in Denver, I travel frequently between these to cities for work and pleasure. Almost without exception, Frontier is the airline I choose.
I'm 6'4", and while Frontier's seats don't offer a ton of leg room, they afford an extra inch or two, making all the difference. I also enjoy their satellite TV offerings, making it possible to drug yourself out on the history channel or HGTV for 4 hours.
Frontier's animal motif, their cheeky ads, and good-humored flight crew are also very welcome. Since all their planes are single class - meaning coach for everybody - combined with the friendly, down-to-earth attitude of the company itself, the whole outfit has a vaguely egalitarian feel that's appropriate to the Denver ethos.
Drawbacks are limited. They consist mainly of the three-across seating that is on all their planes. I'm sure the economics of airlines necessitate this, but it's always a drag getting a middle seat or not being able to be seated alone with your travel companion. That said, at least the seats are comfortable and the planes themselves new wide-bodied Airbuses.
