If you want to fly for little money Frontier is a good choice. The only problem might be that you'll have to fly in or out of an out-of-the-way airport (like Midway in Chicago) because all of the big airlines (like United) have hogged all the space at the big airports. Now this isn't Frontier's fault and it would look a lot better for United and the other big guys if they would stop squeezing out the little guys (they're trying to squeeze them out at DIA in Denver now too) if they'd just stop and think for a moment.
Not everyone in the whole wide world has $700 to plop down just to fly from Chicago to San Diego. At least I don't and I want to fly that route occasionally because I used to live in San Diego and now live in Chicago. For that kind of trip Frontier is perfect. They've purchase some 737s from airlines that got stuck short of money overseas so you have to put up with weird saying on the door of the bathroom, but you can still use it and it flies just as well and it's clean and new. Heck! Ours even had a certificate of sanitary construction!!!! :-)
Frontier also has crew that are down to earth and friendly and that treat you like human beings instead of like a part of the airplane. They understand that listening to the safety spiel isn't always fun so they make sure that they not only have everything in it that you need to stay safe, but also that they make it interesting. Their snacks are also not just a simpering bag of pretzels. It's usually a muffin in the morning, a bagel in the noontime and a large pretzel later in the day. Also, like some other airlines, they don't go lean on the drinks. Some airlines act like a can of pop is a luxury. Frontier doesn't, you get the whole thing and can have a second if you like.
