I recently had the pleasure of taking JetBlue to Buffalo. I am not usually someone who will take discount airlines, let alone the major airlines, because I do not enjoy flying and try to avoid it at all costs. However, flying on JetBlue was an extremely pleasurable experience that left me wanting to fly some more!
I began smiling the minute we pulled up to the terminal and saw the decorated JetBlue planes parked on the tarmac. The tails of the JetBlue planes are decorated in three attractive designs. Check-in was effortless. While I saw long lines for other airlines, I was checked in with JetBlue in a matter of minutes. My boarding pass was not the standard cardboard pass issued by most airlines. It was more like a receipt you'd get in a fast food restaurant while waiting for your food. Moving to the gate, the plane was already boarding when I got there. Without waiting on line, I handed in my boarding pass and got right on the plane.
Walking into the plane, I felt like I was on a corporate jet. The plane was a brand new Airbus with roomy and spacious leather seats. But it didn't end there. There are small television sets at each seat where you can watch selected channels, including CNN and several sports channels. The manual said that it costs $5 to watch the TVs, but they were free when I was on the plane. Headphones are provided at no cost. The flight attendants were friendly and accommodating. There are no annoying serving carts being wheeled down the aisle on which you can bang your elbows. The flight attendants take your drink order and then come back with the drinks on a tray. Again, this felt very corporate and much more sophisticated than other airlines. The flight took off and landed without incident. We were on time, with no delays whatsoever.
Fares on JetBlue were very reasonable. I paid $208 round trip to Buffalo. If you book at the right time, there are specials to Buffalo for $49 one way. Quotes from other major airlines were almost double JetBlue's fare. Flights to certain cities in Florida such as Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Myers start at $79 one way. JetBlue will soon have flights to Salt Lake City and other destinations. I booked my flight online, the first time I have ever made airline reservations on the internet. The website is www.jetblue.com Unlike other airline websites, I found the JewBlue website to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. I felt confident in placing my reservations online. Plus, you save $2 each way if you book online.
My experience on JetBlue was nothing but positive, leaving me eagerly looking forward to another flight with them.
