I love this airline so much I would sit in the very last seat near the bathroom!!!! It would take a place like New York to put out an airline this good! I recently flew Jet Blue airlines home to New York for the holidays. This was my first time flying with Jet Blue, so I arrived at the airport and prepared to become very critical.
They started to board the plane back rows first and so on. The only difference is that they boarded the plane through 2 doors, one in the back and the usual at the front. Boarding took half the time even though the flight was booked and I still was able to find overhead space! The plane was brand new (take about feeling safe), and the flight attendants greeted me with kool aid smiles and "we aim to please" written all over their faces. As I walked down the aisle and prepared myself for what I thought would be another restless flight home, I was shocked to see truly all leather seats and individual TVs for each seat. I sat in the middle of the plane in my preferred window seat and looked around while boarding was being completed. The plane was clean and there were no wrappers or crumbs left behind from the last passengers. After all the passengers were seated the attendants came down the aisle to do a last check before departure and made sure that each passenger had a headset for "their" TV.
The pilot's voice rang loud and reassuring over the intercom letting the passengers know we could depart 15 minutes early and that our flight will take no more than 2 hours, he also cracked a joke about the temperature in New York and asked if everyone was really sure they wanted to leave sunny Florida!
The departure was quick and smooth. About 10 minutes in the air the attendants started down the aisle to take everyone's drink orders. Since all three attendants were taking the orders it took all of about 10-15 minutes to order and have a full can of soda or juice and a cup with ice on my tray. Right after drinks were served they came down the aisle with a huge basket of snacks (including Terra Blue Potato Chips, go figure)and served the snacks to the passengers. Jet Blue does not serve sandwiches like TWA or Delta does, but this could be a way they are able to keep the ticket fares low. Even though they don't serve "food" you can have as many drinks and as many bags of snacks you want so they won't let you go hungry. With the 24 channel Direct TV and the awesome service the flight took no time at all. I did not stare at my watch the entire time and was extremely surprised when the intercom came on and the pilot said we were preparing for landing. I walked off of that plane a very satisfied customer.
When it was time to leave New York, I had an early morning flight and was running late. I got to the airport 20 minutes before my plane was supposed to leave! I checked in my bags at the outside station when I got to the airport. The guys assured me that even though I was late they would make sure that both me and my luggage would make it on the flight! As I was making a mad dash for the gate I heard my name and several others over the airport loud speaker trying to locate us for the Jet Blue flight that was supposed to leave. I finally made it to the gate, the attendants helped me with my carry on bags and seated me. Well, since I was the last person to check in I got stuck in the very last row in an aisle seat near the bathroom! That's when I started to panic. I thought I would have to smell everyone's "business" and get a bruised elbow from the drink cart hitting me for the next 2 hours or so. Well, that was not the case. The attendants were very careful not to whack anyone with the cart and there was absolutely no smell from the bathrooms! And the noise level was very slight! The best part was when we landed, since Jet Blue has a door in the back of the plane I was the second one to be out the door!
I have probably taken about 50 flights in my life and this has been the best yet! Now when its time to visit home again I don't have to dread the trip there!
