Pros: Leather seats, 2-across, with wide armrests, good food and sometimes chocolate chip cookies baked onboard.
Cons: Still not much room between rows
The Bottom Line: Fly the first class airline...go Midwest Express!

When Midwest Express came on the market, they were the travelers dream alternative to traveling first class. As time has gone on, they have remained on top as far as good food and seemingly more room, although other airlines are now reconfiguring, so there is more space between rows in coach class..and lets face it...most of us go coach class.
I went to New York City with my sister for her 50th birthday on Midwest Express, and her complaint was she couldn't bend over and get anything out of her bag under the seat in front of her without cranking her neck into an uncomfortable position, which was even more awkward when the person in front of her put their seat back. She is 5ft 9in tall, so a man would have trouble too.
Then we were very disappointed to learn we wouldn't be getting their renown freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on our trip because we weren't flying at a designated meal time.
All that aside, as a travel agent, a lot of my clients still prefer to go Midwest Express simply because no-one has to have the middle seat, because there are none. Seats are situated two across with an aisle between the next set of two seats. One person gets the window and the other gets the aisle and everyone is happy. That is the way they distinguish themselves from the competition.
The prices on Midwest Express are slightly higher than on the other airlines, but I'd say most people say it is well worth it. As the company says, every seat is a first class seat, so there is no designated first class section, other than the whole plane.
Meals are served on real linen tray cloths, and you get a linen napkin with a buttonhole in one end for fastening onto the top button of your shirt, so if you spill, your outfit stays fresh. On the flights I've been on, you also get free champagne in a small glass wineglass, and food is served on real china. All the food ingredients taste fresh, and the meals are very good compared with all the other airlines for coach class.
The only drawback is that their market is limited. They don't fly to all the destinations people want to go to. But if they are going where you are, you are in luck.
Overall, Midwest Airlines is a favorite with the midwesterners I do business with. Their faces just light up when I tell them Midwest Express is an option for their destination.
